Aaron A. Stoltzfus, 72, of 965 Plymouth Road, Norristown, formerly of Lancaster County, died Tuesday from burns he received in an explosion at his cottage Monday morning. Stoltzfus, who lived in Norristown for the past 27 years, reportedly suffered burns over 80 percent of his body when a propane gas stove exploded at 9:30 a.m. Monday and blew out the wall of his cottage. Fireman found Stoltzfus with all his clothing ablaze and rushed him to the intensive care unit of Montgomery Hospital in Norristown. He died Tuesday at 12:40 a.m. Stoltzfus, who lived alone at the cottage, was employed as a mechanic at Norristown Motors, Inc., for the past 27 years. He was born in Upper Leacock Twp., and was a son of the late Abraham and Emma Stoltzfus Stoltzfus. Surviving are his wife, Bessie Reitz Stoltzfus, Lancaster; a daughter, Mrs. Betty F. Ferich, East Petersburg; three grandchildren; and a sister, Emma, wife of Aaron M. Stoltzfus, Elverson R2. (Intelligencer Journal - Oct 4, 1967)
