"Came to Moscow in 1892, Owning Property Here At Death. William Hampton Hill who had just passed 70 years of age April 1, died Wednesday morning at 1:15 o'clock after an illness of several weeks. His wife died last July 25. Born in Edneville, N.C., April 1, 1865, the son of Hampton and Rachel Hill, he came to Moscow from his native state in 1892,entering into the real estate business here. At his death he was an extensive owner of property in Moscow. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Shepherd of Moscow, two sons, Dr. W.H. Hill of Hilo, Hawaii and Hugh Hill of Redlands, Calif. Died of cancer."
