Jennifer Elizabeth Wells, 75, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in American Fork, UT.

Jenny was born in Clayton, NM on September 16, 1946, to Bill and Lucille Everett. She grew up in Dumas, TX with her three siblings, and graduated from Dumas High School.

Starting in childhood, Jenny suffered from ulcerative colitis and was often in and out of the hospital. Despite this, Jenny was a vivacious young woman. Indeed, one of the hallmarks of her character was her courage and patience as she dealt with various illnesses throughout her life.

Jenny attended West Texas University in Canyon, TX, eventually earning a bachelor's degree in Social Work. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority and was voted a Sophomore Class Favorite as Personality Queen. While in college, she met Gerald "Jerry" Wells, and they were married in Dumas on September 30, 1967. They went on to have four children. (A fifth child, Ashton, died shortly before his due date.)

In 1971 Jerry and Jenny became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a year later were sealed in the Mesa Arizona temple. They remained active in the Church throughout her life. Jenny particularly enjoyed serving in the Primary and Young Women organizations. Jerry and Jenny taught their children to love God and have faith in Jesus Christ. Their three sons served missions for the Church, and all of the children married in the temple.
As a result of job changes and promotions for Jerry, the family spent time living in Arizona, Nebraska, and Florida, in addition to Texas. Although she loved living in each of these places, she was always a Texas girl at heart. After the children were grown, Jenny and Jerry lived a few years in Las Vegas, NV, and eventually settled in Pleasant Grove, UT to be closer to their children.

Jenny loved reading, watching Masterpiece Theater, doing volunteer work, and, most of all, raising her children. She was often a parent helper on her kids' school field trips and with their class parties. She and the rest of the family became avid and lifelong fans of Nebraska Cornhuskers football. She spent many years babysitting in the home and later worked as a social worker in the Texas State Penitentiary in Amarillo, TX. She was well-liked by all who knew her and made friends easily. Indeed, the family often joked that after a bus or plane ride half the passengers would be saying, "Bye, Jenny, so nice to meet you!" as they disembarked.

Jenny was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She constantly offered unfailing love and encouragement to her children and grandchildren as she helped them navigate the struggles of life. Through it all, she and Jerry remained side-by-side, ever faithful to each other.

The family would like to thank the staff at American Fork Hospital for the frequent and kind care given to Jenny during the last months of her life.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21st at 10:00 am at Utah Valley Mortuary, 1966 W. 700 N., Lindon, Utah.
Interment will take place in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
