Cheryl was born on October 12, 1946 in Lima, Ohio, to Harold and Betty (Jackson) Herr. On November 20, 1961 she married Gerald "Jerry" Jones, who survives in Lima.
Cheryl was a graduate of Bath High School and attended Juilliard. She was a greeter and secretary at Lima Auto Mall. She also worked for a veterinarian office for many years as well as a gas station. Cheryl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 46 years, and was very involved in many aspects of the church. She sold Longaberger Baskets, made stained glass, and enjoyed cooking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Justin (Veronica) Jones; grandson Luke Jones; and siblings: Linda Smith, Colleen (Ed) Knerr, Gloria Boroff. and brother-in-law Jerry Metcalf
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister; Nancy Metcalf; and brothers-in-law, Bill Smith and Bob Boroff.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, and 12 – 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Bishop McClay will officiate. Burial will follow at Bluelick Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Missionary Fund at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
