She was born April 5, 1947 in Cripple Creek, Virginia to the late Stephen Lawson and Lois Andrew Porter.
She lived a number of years in Florida. She was a 1965 graduate of Titusville High School in Titusville, Florida and Brevard Community College in 1987 Kathryn was employed in Health Care for many years. In earlier years she was a Professional Pool Player. She attended Hunter Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Testerman.
Survivors include her children: Angela Denise Wagner, Salisbury, North Carolina and Stephen Lawson Porter Wagner and wife Sara, of Elizabethton. Four Grandchildren: Megan, Ruth Ann, Lawson and Marley Jane. One Great Granddaughter: Amelia. One Sister: Susan Fabin of Florida. Her fur baby: Meeka and her many friends at Courtyard Apts.
A Service to celebrate the life of Kathryn will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 in Hunter Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Hartley and her son Stephen officiating. Her cremains will be buried with her parents in Fleming Cemetery, Cripple Creek, Virginia the placed where her heart never left. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of her to the Benevolence Fund of Hunter Memorial Baptist Church, 599 Highway 91, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.
