Larry Dale Lawson, age 68, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
Larry was born on October 29, 1953 in Somerset, KY to the late Bro. William "Leon" Lawson and Faye Whitaker Lawson. He was a member of Sinking Valley Baptist Church since 1990 and was a longtime employee of Southern Petroleum. Larry loved camping and spending time on Lake Cumberland. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandbabies, they were his world.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Lisa Oakes of Nancy; two sons, Larry Dale Lawson of Shopville and Jamie Scott Lawson of Somerset; three daughters, Amanda Jo (and Lewis) Tarter of Nancy, Cynthia Nicole (and Isaac) Hart of Somerset and Samantha Ann Oakes of Nancy; three brothers, Lonnie Lawson of Somerset, Rick (and Nancy) Lawson of Somerset and Johnny Lawson of Somerset; four sisters, Jeanette (and Jim) Shafer of Somerset, Janice (and Bob) Blanton of Somerset, Terri (and Richard) Pushell of Somerset and Robin (and David) Bishop of Science Hill; six grandchildren, Chelsea Lawson, Fisher Lawson, Devinne Burdine, Connor Hart, Evelyn Hart and Elzie Tarter; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two infant children; and two brothers, Gary Lawson and Jerry Nix.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will follow on Monday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Scotty Nix officiating. Burial will be at Whitaker Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaac Hart, Jeremy Nix, Donney Nix, Lewis Tarter, Chris Arthur, Jerrit Skaggs and Jerome Gullett.
