Rosalind Amy Lipsius Brown died November 23, 2021 at Duke Hospital from complications following surgery. She was born in Rhode Island January 11, 1950.

Roz grew up in Wilmington where she graduated from New Hanover High School and made many friends with whom she remained actively involved.

She graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in Business Administration and remained a dedicated Pirate.

She worked 23 years at the Employment Security Commission of NC, retiring early in order to more fully engage her many hobbies including needlework, line dancing and travel.

Known for her gregarious personality, she never met a stranger and was interested in everyone's story. She had visited most of the US, more than forty countries and had trips planned in the coming months to Scandinavia, eastern Europe and the US. Her last adventure was a three-week girls' road trip to US national parks where she made new friends along the way.

Roz is survived by her son Charles Edward Brown of San Francisco and his daughters Charlotte and Sloane, her brother Ronald Lipsius of Wilmington, her cousins in the US and England, and a cadre of heartbroken friends.

She was predeceased by her father Edward Lipsius Jr, her mother Dorothy Amy Parr Lipsius, brother Edward Lipsius III. and her beloved cat Roo.

She was an active member of St. Peters-By-The-Sea Episcopal Church in Swansboro, NC where she lived for the past 35 years.

There will be a memorial service held on February 4, 2022 at St. Peters-By-The-Sea Episcopal Church in Swansboro, NC.
