Donna Mae Clark (Vogt), 88 of Higginsville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, Missouri.
She was born Friday, April 28, 1933 in Grundy Center, Iowa; she was the daughter of the late Herman Vogt and the late Martha (Tessau) Vogt. Donna graduated from Reinbeck High School in Iowa - class of 1946. She joined the United States Air Force and proudly served her country from 1952 until 1953. She married Eldred Clark while in the Air Force on December 16, 1952.
Donna went on to work for the U.S. Post Office as the first woman postal carrier in Higginsville. She was a member of the Corder Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her time spent with the American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Officers Club at the Air Force Base. She was part of the Red Hatters, Eastern Star, and the American Business Women's Association. In her spare time, she was an avid bridge player, was an active member of her garden club and was still a loyal member to her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi. She spent countless hours volunteering at the Shelby House, Head Start, Honor Guard, and was a Den Mother for the Scouts and Brownies when her children were young. Donna lived a full life and enjoyed every second. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Surviving are one son; Robert (Lisa) Clark of Kansas City, MO; three daughters, Sandra (Alex) Starke of Higginsville, Patti (Victor) Perez of Blue Springs, MO and Debbie (Todd) Crabtree of Blue Springs; one brother, Leonard "Pony" Vogt of Cherry Valley, CA; grandchildren, Stephen (Rachel Hall) Clark, Sarah (Paul) Day, Shawn (Mandy) Clark, Scott (Christen) Clark, Cory Starke, Amber (Nolan) Wesche, Maranda Perez, Taylor (Isabella) Crabtree, Kaitlin (Cole) Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Annabelle, Ethan, Lydia, Gabriel, Ella, Lillian, Avery, and Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldred Clark; one brother, Donald "Bozo" Vogt; sisters, Betty Bachs and Florence "Flornie" Jones.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Stewart-Hoefer Funeral Home, 1600 Main St., Higginsville, Missouri. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Casket Bearers: Stephen Clark, Scott Clark, Shawn Clark, Taylor Crabtree, Cory Starke. Memorial contributions may be made out to the American Legion Auxiliary.
