James Randall Gentry "Randy", age 53 of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2021, after more than a three year battle with cancer. Randy enjoyed many hobbies such as woodworking, hiking, and cheering on the VOLS.
Preceded in death by grandparents James C. and Gladys Gentry and Carroll and Louise Palmer.
Survived by his wife Trisha Gentry, daughter Kayla Gentry, step-daughter Mackenzie Hunley, parents James "Jimmy" and Sharon Gentry, brother Justin (Amanda) Gentry, nieces Ashlyn Walker, Courtney Gentry, Leah Gentry, nephews Zachary (Katie) Miracle and Trey Hyde, great-niece Audrey Miracle, aunt and uncle Diane and Ken Palmer, life-long friend Brian (Krindolyn) Gideon, cousins Pam Holbert and Jan (Joel) Bruce, mother and father-in-law John and Sara Roach, sister-in-law Jeni Roach, special pups Ozzy, Bailey, and Foxy.
Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Monday, December 27, 2021, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with service to follow, Jamie Bauknight officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 12:15pm Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel to proceed to Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 1:00pm interment. Randy was a lover of animals. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sevier County Humane Society.
