Elsie was born April 30, 1924, in Galesburg, IL to Aaron J. and Ruby A. (Parsons) Duncan.
She was married to Everett Harold Cady on July 2, 1943 in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2003.
Survivors include three children, Richard W. Cady (Theresa) of Hot Springs Village, AR, Neil D. Cady of Columbia, MO, and Nancy Schmidt of Ursa, IL; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barb Szarejko of Johnson City, TN.

Elsie was a homemaker until working at ArtCraft Co. from 1969-1990.
To say that Elsie was an active member of her community would be an understatement! Elsie was a member of multiple organizations including the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, Happy Helpers Sunday School, Share & Care, Adams County Women Church United, and Helping Hand. She was a passionate piano player and made sure that all of her children learned to play an instrument. Elsie also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and tending to her three gardens. If Elsie wasn't busy volunteering or spending time on her hobbies, she would read or do crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Above all, Elsie cherished time spent with her loved ones at family get-togethers, during which she would cook delicious meals for the entire family.
Elsie was a member of the United Methodist Church of Huntsville, IL, and later of Zion United Church of Christ of Ursa, IL.
Pallbearers will be Dan Cady, Don Dietrich, Mike Drake, Paul Haddock, Tommy Haddock, Rick King, and Rick Moore.
Memorial contributions may be made to Great River Honor Flight or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
