Carol Ann Wright Sloane, 66, of East Finley Township, Washington County, died in her home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, after being in failing health for the past two years.

She was born May 6, 1955, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of the late Robert William and Mary Alice West Richey, and had resided in West Finley Township prior to moving to East Finley Township in 1975.

Mrs. Sloane was a member of the former Windy Gap Presbyterian Church in West Finley, but had attended the Fairmount United Methodist Church the past several years.

She was a 1973 graduate of McGuffey High School.

Mrs. Sloane was last employed as an admitting clerk at the former Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.Va., for approximately nine years prior to her retirement in 1987.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, making and sending cards to family, friends and neighbors, going out to eat and shopping; she loved rainbows, and would even call her grandchildren to make sure they saw them.

On June 14, 1975, she married John Carter Wright, who died in August 1985.

On January 6, 1989 she married James Richard Sloane, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Donna (Scott) Ealy, of East Finley Township; six grandchildren, Zack, Macey, Ryan, Jeremiah, Ashlee and Nathan Ealy; a sister, Norma Jean (Herb) Morris, of Good Intent; a niece, Barbara Morris; a nephew, Douglas Morris; two great-nieces, Abby and Ashley Morris.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, in the Fairmount United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, with Rev. Scott Lawrence officiating.

Interment will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
