Minnie Ardelle Brooks, 80 of Oil City, PA. passed away at 01:30 A.M. Friday May 17, 2013 at her residence after a most courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Warren, OH on Dec. 22, 1932 dau. of the late Lauren and Florence Irene McKinley Albaugh.

She was a 1950 graduate of Oil City Senior High School. Her working career started as an operator with Bell Telephone. She then went on to be a secretary for both the Franklin News Herald and the Franklin Hospital from which she retired. Following retirement she worked as a secretary for Vision Quest and UCIP Faith in Action. She also did volunteer work for the Literacy Council.

She enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adeline's of Franklin and was a Past-President of the F.O.E. Women's Auxiliary of Franklin. She had a green thumb and had a passion for plants and flowers. And last but not least she enjoyed e-mailing her friends on the computer.

Minnie was a member of the Oil City Church of the Nazarene. In her life time she attended many different congregations in search of a good sermon. She enjoyed Gospel Music and was committed to her daily devotions.

She was first married to Harold Baker who preceded her in 1993. She subsequently married Edgar Cann and Martin O'Brien who also preceded her in death. She is presently married to Walter Brooks who survives along with 5 children and their spouses; Jim Baker, Brenda Baker, Deborah and Ron Blair, Laurie Monarch and Lisa and John McNerney along with 13 grandchildren.

Mrs. Brooks is also survived by a brother Melvin Albaugh and by a sister Melda Hopkins. Several nephews also survive.

She was preceded by a sister Lillian Albaugh and by two grandchildren Julia Crose and Ricki Monarch and by a daughter in-law Joyce Baker.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Park.
