Barbara Jean Owens, 91 of Midland, died Saturday morning, December 18, 2021, at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. She was born June 6, 1930, in Gladwin, daughter of the late John and Lily Olive (Sparks) Plude. On September 27, 1949, she married Michael Owens and they started their family with the addition of their children. Barbara was known as 'Ms. Jean' to many and was a mother to all children in her neighborhood. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and was very involved in her children's activities. Barbara was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and was a devout Catholic.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her children's father Mike Owens on August 30. 2012, by sons Douglas and Richard Owens, and by 10 siblings.
The Funeral Liturgy will take place from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Sanford with Fr. Daniel J. Fox OFM Cap. as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
