Donald was the son of Phillip Robinson and Willie Cornelia Flowers Robinson. He was educated in the Peach County School System and was a Class of 1968 graduate of H.A. Hunt High School in Fort Valley, Georgia. He attended Fort Valley State College in Fort Valley, Georgia. After completing 2 years, he then enrolled in the Ryder Professional Truck Driving School in Atlanta, Georgia. He then began his career as an over the road truck driver. He worked for Schwerman Trucking, ADM Trucking, Logistic Trucking and finally Distech. He drove all over the United States for 38 years without a single accident. He was known to family and friends as the Human GPS. He was a member of the Harris Chapel CME Church in Crawford County, Georgia where he served as Steward, Treasurer and scheduled trips to Washington, DC and to Disney World for the Sunday School Class.
Donald was married to Sheila Curry Ruff Robinson on February 14, 1997, they had 2 sons. They had been a couple since 1975 and were together for 46 years.
