Carol Jean Walker, 66, of Friedens, died Dec. 16, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 1, 1955 in Somerset, daughter of Wilbur Dwight and Margaret Ruth (Riddell) Wentz. Preceded in death by parents and step mother E. Marie (Brant) Wentz. Survived by her husband of 48 years Gregory Alan Walker; daughter: Cynthia married to William Lambert; and grandchildren: Rachel and Matthew Lambert. She was a 1973 graduate of Somerset High School. She was the Secretary and Treasurer of Calvary United Methodist Church and Treasurer of First United Methodist Church. Member and Treasurer of Somerset Church of the Brethren. Board Member of Camp Harmony, Hooversville, Western PA District Church of the Brethren, Somerset Area Ministries, and Somerset Co. Farm Bureau. She also assisted with Meals on Wheels. Carol enjoyed NHRA drag racing and riding motorcycles. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 14, at Somerset Church of the Brethren. Pastor Ron Barto, her brother-in-law Pastor Roy Burket, Pastor Arnie McFarland, and Pastor Chris Forry officiating.
