Shirley Scott age 85, of Arkadelphia, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021, in Arkadelphia. She was born January 29, 1936, in Curtis to the late Hugh Boy and Ruby Harkrider Freeman.

Shirley was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and worked in the cafeteria at Central Primary School in Arkadelphia. She enjoyed working outdoors and loved her family and grandkids.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Scott; a daughter, Melanie Lewis; a brother, Charles Freeman and a sister, Mary Hughes.

Survivors are a daughter, Trisha Bethell and husband, Roy of Arkadelphia; grandchildren, Kerri Hoover and husband, Shane of Kirby, Arkansas, Brian Lewis and wife, Michaela and Rebecca Lewis all of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Cody, Austin and Baylee Bethell, Kora and Wade Hoover; great-great-grandchildren, Henslee, Hampton and Canton Bethell; sisters, Gloria Holcomb of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Hughlene Barham of Arkadelphia and Jayne Cole of Arkadelphia; brothers, Tommy Freeman of Arkadelphia and Darrell "Son" Freeman of Hope, Arkansas and a sister-in-law, Jan Freeman, wife of the late Charles Freeman of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Visitation will be 3:00 PM Thursday, December 23rd at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Services will follow at 4:00 PM with Bro. Phillip Runyan officiating. Burial will be at Hart Cemetery beside her husband and mother.

Trisha would like to extend her appreciation and thanks to The Plaza and Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation for caring and loving her mom as if she was one of their own. It would have not been possible without them.
