Barbara Sue Wallen Cox, wife of Eugene Cox, departed this life at Grand Haven Nursing Home, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, on Thursday, December 21, 2021, having attained the age of 82 years. She was born on July 22, 1939, in Keokee, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles and Cleo Wallen Owsley. She attended Harlan County schools, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by: a grandson, Dustin Dennis Eugene Cox, in 2019; two sisters, Betty Howard and Brenda Wallen; and a brother, Billy Wallen. In addition to her husband, Eugene, she is survived by: a son, Dennis E. Cox, and his wife, Melody; a daughter, Pamela Lynn Lundblad, and her husband, Jim; three grandchildren, Stephne Cox, Jaime Lundblad and Tammy Barnes; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, with Celebrant Sharon Berry officiating. Interment will follow in Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.
