Susan turned 69 on Dec. 20. She was born in 1952 in Muskogee to William Marcus Asquith Jr. and Helen Stuart Smith Asquith. Her parents, "Bill and Stuart," were both Muskogee natives and lifelong residents. They preceded her in death.

Before beginning her own business, Stay Home Services, in 2003, Susan worked as director of Christian education at St. Paul United Methodist Church and as director of Sterling Assisted Living in Muskogee.

At St. Paul, Susan established an after-school program for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders, the XYZ Club for older adults, and L.I.F.E. School (Learning Is for Everyone) for the community. As a member, she was in the Chancel Choir, active in New Life Sunday School Class, and co-chair of the Backpack Food Program.

Susan gave book reviews as a member and former officer of New Century Club, and for Friends of the Library, where she was a former president. She also reviewed books for her church.

Susan was passionate about and contributed in many ways to: Muskogee Little Theatre; Friends of Honor Heights Park; Muskogee Musical Arts Society; Muskogee Community Chorus; Muskogee Garden Club; and Service League of Muskogee.
