A native of Dade County, Florida, Amy was born March 25, 1963, a daughter of Jean Fowler McGee and the late James Robert McGee.
At a young age, Amy and her family moved to Buncombe County to make their home in the mountains of Western North Carolina. She was a devoted homemaker and was also a talented recording artist. Amy loved to sing and her beautiful voice brought joy to many. She loved her family deeply, and her daughter and grandchildren were her whole world. Amy held a special close relationship with her mother and cherished her dearly. We rejoice knowing that Amy had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior 3 weeks ago, and this is a blessing to her family on this day.
In addition to her father, James Robert McGee, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy McGee, maternal grandparents, Clyde and Charity Fowler; and former husband and father of her daughter, Timmy Taylor.
Surviving are her close friend, Ron Herring; daughter, Melissa Taylor; grandchildren, Emily West, Jaxon Thomas, and Ronin Thomas; mother, Jean McGee; sister, Sandy McGee-Gray; brother, Bobby McGee; and a niece, Christian Bagwell.
A memorial service to celebrate Amy's life will be held at a later date and will be announced.
