A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late G. L. "Bucky" Ward, Jr. whom she couldn't wait to be reunited with and the daughter of James Robert Richards and Sally Williams Richards, both deceased.
Mrs. Ward was a charter member of the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Women's Circle and Women's Bible Study Group. She was also a competitive member of several Bridge Clubs. She was an avid sports fan with a special love for her Tar Heels.
Survivors include two children, Robyn Wrenn (Jay) and G. L. "Tripp" Ward, III (Connie); four grandchildren, Robby Wrenn (Shannon), Jennifer Gregory (Davis), Sydney Sidon (Jimmy) and Taylor Ward; great-grandchildren, Luke Gregory, Austin Gregory, Laci Gregory, Jarvis Wrenn, Alyssa Wrenn and Lily Sidon; Baby Girl Sidon due February 2020; and one sister, Dot Lowdermilk.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by Rev. Joe Seay. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 prior to the funeral service.
