George is the son of Paul Zinavevich Bogdanoff and Mary Grigorievna Popoff. The family immigrated to America from Russia in 1913.

The 1910 census shows the family renting their home at 908A Rhode Island Street in San Francisco, CA. His father worked in the ship yards and his mother worked in a laundry. George was born in Russia as was his brother John. His other siblings, all born in San Francisco, CA, are Ann, Mary, William, Emma, Jack, and Vera.

By the time of the 1930 census, the family lived at 930 Rhode Island Street in San Francisco. His father still worked in the shipyards and his mother still worked in a laundry.
The family owns their home worth $3500; they can read and write; all can speak english except for his parents, Paul and Mary

George Bogdanoff

Funeral services for George Bogdanoff, 56, athletic director of the Riverdale High School, will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. in the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Riverdale.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday in the Russian Sectarian Cemetery in Colma, San Mateo County.
Bogdanoff, a San Joaquin Valley sports figure more than two decades, died Monday night in a Fresno hospital.
He had coached all sports in Riverdale High from 1940 until he became the athletic director three years ago. He had numerous champions in football and baseball. A heart attack in the mid 1950s forced him to limit his activities.
A native of Russia, Bogdanoff was reared and educated in the bay area. He was a graduate of the San Francisco State college and held a master's degree from the University of Southern CA.
His survivors are his widow, Elaine; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Hollis of Kingsburg, and a son George, Jr., a Fresno State College student.
The family requests that any remembrances be in the form of donations to the memorial fund of the Evangelical United Brethren Church or the Fresno County branch of the American Cancer Society.
The Peoples Funeral Home in Hanford is making the arrangements.
