Thomas Flynn of Amsterdam, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday December 18th, 2021 surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 79 years old.
Born on March 8, 1942 in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas C. Flynn and Eleanor Baum Flynn.
Upon graduating from high school, Tom was drafted and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years. He returned home from service and settled down with the love of his life, Marlene.
He owned and operated F and M Construction in the Gloversville area for many years.
Tom loved to ride his Harley with his wife and friends. When Tom wasn't riding his motorcycle he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; they were his pride and joy.
He is predeceased by his parents, mother in-law Arlene Dutcher, brother in-laws, Babe, Paul, Gary Meher Sr. and Ken Wolf.
Survivors include his wife Marlene Meher Flynn, their children, Tracey Costanza (Mike) and Shawn Flynn (Rachel), grandchildren, Thomas Shanahan Sr. (Jessica), Shauna-Rae Haley (Brennan Sr.), Gianna Costanza, Andrew Flynn and Kaylee Flynn, great grandchildren, Thomas Jr. and Emilee Shanahan, and Brooklyn and Brennan Jr. Haley, brother in-law Pete Meher (Jeanne), sister in-laws, Pret Matthews (Daniel), Cheryl Wolfe, Dawn, Candy and Ethel Meher and his extended family, Michael Shanahan, and Roger and Paula Baldwin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Tom will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Private Memorial service and burial will be held at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Rd Saratoga, NY.
