Mrs. Carla Elaine Brewer, 60, of Waycross died Saturday evening at Memorial Health in Savannah, Georgia after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Waycross, Carla worked as an EMT for many years, and most recently worked for Flash Foods at the truck stop on Corridor Z. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She especially loved every moment she was able to spend with her grandchildren.
She was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of Jordan Church in Dixie Union, and loved to fish.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tiffany Elaine Morris; parents, Johnny and Carline Grantham, Sr., and Wanda and Robert Brewer; maternal grandparents, Folks and Annie Mae Henderson; paternal grandparents, Lloyd Harold and Rosa Lee Grantham; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and Etta Brewer, and her brother, Matthew Corbitt.
Carla is survived by her husband of twenty-five years, Fred Brewer of Waycross; two daughters, Jennifer Blyseth and her husband Brent of Waycross, Felicia King and her husband Bo of Waycross; five grandchildren, Alaya King, Amanda King, Lindsay Blyseth, Devynn Blyseth, Cyril Blyseth; several great grandchildren; three brothers, Johnny Grantham, Jr., "Pewee" and his wife Laura of Lakeland, Florida, Jimmy Grantham and his wife Julie of Valdosta, Pete Corbitt of Naylor; maternal aunt, Karen Henderson of Surrency; paternal uncles, Raymond Grantham of California, Robert Grantham of Tennessee, paternal aunts, Marie McCormack of Tennessee, Betty Steedley of Valdosta, and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
