Services for James McClain, 66, of Houston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28. 2021 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

James was born January 16, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas. He passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at his residence in Houston.

James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He loved World War II memorabilia, especially airplanes from that era. He was a past Grandmaster of the Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M. He was also a Shriner, Scottish Rite and York Rite. James was employed for the City of Lufkin for 38 years. He was a member of Carpenter's Way Baptist Church and a member of Sky Warn as a storm spotter.

Survivors include his daughter, Heather Reynolds of Houston; son, Joshua Chunn and wife Angela of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Ireland Reynolds, Nikki Reynolds, Katelynn Chunn, Jacob Chunn and Lucas Chunn; sister, Sharon; brothers, Donnie McClain and Jerry Joe McClain; and mother, Betty McClain.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra McClain; and father, Ralph D. McClain.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
