Mary Fowler, you might have known her as Nan, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021. She was born August 22nd, 1957, in Danville Arkansas to father Avis Glovalley Shockley and mother Bonnie Ann (Frost) Collins. Mary was one of six children and attended Ola public school. She lived her entire life in Yell County where she met and married her husband of 47 years, Johnny Fowler. Together, they raised three children. Mary worked as a nursing assistant during the 1970s and loved providing care for others. Riding horses and cooking were just some of her favorite hobbies, but spoiling her grandchildren was her favorite. She was always ready to shower her family with hugs and kisses, even if that meant holding them down. No one ever left her house without knowing how much she loved them and especially not hungry. She loved playing cards and was truly never caught cheating once. Christmas time was always her favorite time of year. You could always see the brightest sparkle in her eyes and the biggest smile on her face when each family member walked through the door on Christmas morning. She always sent Christmas cards out each year and signed them with her signature "God loves you." Having everyone together always made her beam happiness. Mary was a God-fearing woman, ensuring she was in church as often as she could be. Her presence with us will be missed by many, but peace is found in knowing that the glory she is experiencing now is something we can't even imagine.
