Graveside services for Mr. Roger W. Maxwell, age 81, of Springhill, LA, will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Forest Grove Cemetery in Taylor, AR, with Rev. Brian Montgomery and Rev. Lance Stockman officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Mr. Maxwell was born on June 30, 1940 to Sidney and Rosie Farmer Maxwell in Chester, IL and passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 in Springhill, LA. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Self-employed most of his life, Roger worked hard to always provide for his family. He also lived a life to help lead an example of a dedicated Christian man. His desire was to serve the Lord and to depend upon him. His love for God and people was felt by all who met him. His humble heart and meek spirit will always be remembered. We love you, "Pops".
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Maxwell of Springhill, LA; four sons, Mark Maxwell of Springhill, LA, Roger D. (Kelli) Maxwell of Taylor, AR, Rodney (Tommie) Maxwell of Springhill, LA, Johnathan (Ginger) Maxwell of Ivan, LA; two daughters, Candy Pierce of Malden, MO, Elizabeth (Brian) Montgomery of Winnfield, LA; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers Chris Maxwell, of Philadelphia, MS, Coy Maxwell, of Flippin, AR, and Vernon Maxwell, of Paragould, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Maxwell was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lena Fortner; and brothers, Howard and Harold Maxwell; and great-grandson James Ray Britt.
Pallbearers will be Collin Milton, Terry Wooten, Jonathan Montgomery, Tory Maxwell, Jerrod Britt, and Brody Maxwell.
