Joseph Lafayette Phillips, went to his heavenly home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 19, 2021. He was born on January 7th 1930 in Washington Township, Greene Co. Joseph is a son of the late Joseph Phillips and Pearl Van Seyoc Phillips. He is also preceded in death by brother, Kenneth; sister, Lucy; grandson, Leroy; brother in-laws, Buddy Yates and Bradley Beitzel; in-laws, Herman and Thelma Sines; and stepson, Bill Ross. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 32 years, Mary Lou (Sines) Phillips; step children, Patty (James) Stanczyk of Friedens, Judy (John) Fazenbaker of Lonaconing MD; and 8 grandchildren. He is also survived by a number of great grandchildren and his special side kick grandson Derek and his weight lifting granddaughter Krystal. He worked all kinds of jobs from Ford Motor Company, driving truck, coal mines to being a gun smith his favorite job of all. He was a member of North Ridge Baptist church where he sang in the choir for years. He was a greeter and temporary Deacon for awhile. He also help build the new church. He was a kind loving, Christian man who would do anything for anyone no matter what or who they were. At Joseph's request, all services will be private.
