Bennie Ray Mason, 78 years of Adona, Arkansas passed away with his family surrounding him in Morrilton, Arkansas on December 18, 2021. Bennie was the son of Lonnie and Celia (Davis) Mason, born on June 27, 1943. Bennie was one of thirteen children.
Bennie was a Christian and attended Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church in Rose Creek Community. He was a veteran in the United States Army and dedicated twenty years of service. After his military retirement, he furthered his service for his community working for eighteen years as a dispatcher and jailer for the Perry/Morrilton Police Department.
In his leisure time Bennie spent time outdoors squirrel, dove, and pheasant hunting. He enjoyed fishing with his brothers and in his younger years fishing tournaments. Bennie liked watching westerns; his favorites shows were Gunsmoke and Bonanza. Bennie treasured spending time with his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Bennie is preceded in death by his daughter: Jessica Mason; seven brothers; two sisters; and son-in-law: Sidney William Sizemore.
Bennie is survived by his wife of 49 years: Christiane (Decker) Mason; son: Dannie Mason and wife Jennifer of Perryville, Arkansas; daughter: Nicole Sizemore of Abilene, Kansas; sisters: Mary Anderson of Center Ridge, Arkansas, Lena Tolbertson of Oceanside, California, Kathy Mason of Conway, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Shelbie Sizemore of McLouth, Kansas, Dannie Mason, Jr. of Birdtown, Arkansas, Jessie Mason of Lowell, Indiana, Paxton Mason of Perryville, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren: Rowan Mason, Flora Mason, Cyprus Mason, and Sidney Sizemore.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church in Rose Creek Community, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to support the Riverview Baptist Christian School in Oppelo, Arkansas.
