It was in Little River County of Ashdown, Arkansas in the year of our Lord 1918 the month of August 31st that Anna Snyder and Clayborn Jackson blessed the world with a beautiful girl they named Ruth. She also had four brothers; Elbert Page and Elmer Henry, Ezekiel and Artis Jackson. Within six weeks of her birth, her mother passed and a loving couple named Mae Bell and Philander McKinney placed her in their home.

Ruth gained a sister, Orene Blakely and three additional brothers Clyde McKinney, Aaron McKinney and Anthony Askew. Ruth Jackson was a wise young woman who built her house on a stable foundation by submitting to Jesus Christ at a very young age. The highlight that she remained a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church her entire life is amazing and encouraging. She would be found sitting in her Mother's Chair every Sunday until her health failed. And on Wednesday nights was an attendant in Bible Studies. Even after a battle with COVID, she could hardly wait to return to church; and praises to God she was allotted that opportunity. She attended Kendrick Chapel Grade School. When times were hard, she quit to work. Due to her quest for knowledge, she attended adult night school at Oak Grove and loved English. She loved diagramming the participles.

As time progressed, Ruth married Bennie Paden in 1935. Being a young bride, she was blessed with four boys and four girls.

Ruth was very industrious and worked in many homes, and fields picking and chopping cotton, stripping cane and pulling corn. She worked for the Caldwell family for years. To give the last two daughters a better chance at life, she moved to Prescott in 1967. She was employed by the Prescott School System as a custodian. She remained on the job for 21 years and retired. The principal stated she served as his counselor. She also worked for Adam Gurthie Insurance Office.

In 1993 Ruth married Frank Ingram, and they enjoyed 14 years of bliss until he was called home in February 2007.

She was a member of the Eastern Stars. In 2012 She received the "Oldest Alumni Award," presented by the NCTS-Oak Grove School. She received many award ribbons from the Prescott Fair for her oversized floral plants. Mama was a great cook and was known for her love of chicken wings. Her routine was to recline in her chair and read her bible daily. And every night she could be heard praying aloud to our God.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, sons Jerry and Eddie, grandson Antonio, and all

brothers and sisters.

Ruth leaves her loving children to always cherish her memory: Hazel Paden, Chester Paden of Rosston; Harvey (Annie) of Dallas; Celia Durham and Earnestene Johnson of Prescott; and Emma Brooks (David) of Milwaukee.
