Dorothy Mae Harper, one of eleven children, was born on September 2, 1952 in Milledgeville, Georgia to the union of the late Wilton Hartry and the late Marie Hill Hartry. At an early age, she was baptized and dedicated to the Lord at Flagg Chapel Baptist Church. She went on to share 37 years of marriage, life and happiness with Stembridge Harper III. They loved and raised three children together. After 34 years of committed and exceptional work as an instructor at Central State Hospital, Mrs. Harper retired and enjoyed her time at home with family.
Affectionately addressed as "Dot," Mrs. Harper was a sweet and kind person. To know her was to love her. Her smile was radiant and her laugh was infectious. She greatly enjoyed music, dancing, cooking and spreading her light where ever life took her.
On Friday evening, December 10, 2021, Almighty God through His infinite wisdom, dispatched an Angel to carry Dorothy home to Him and into her eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted and committed husband, Stembridge Harper III; two loving sons, Willie Devereaux (Shavonda), Booker T. Zachary (Sheresa); one loving daughter, Krystel Harper McConico (Jeremiah); eight wonderful grandchildren, Nakeidra Devereaux, Shainara Devereaux, Savion Devereaux, London Devereaux, Cameron Devereaux, Reagan Zachary, Lydia McConico and Theodore McConico; a wonderful great grandson, Aidan Devereaux; three dear brothers, Aaron Hartry, Melvin Hartry (Linda), Tommie Hartry (Leola) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
