Toni Lee Butler, age 78, of Peoria, IL., passed away and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 12:55 p.m. at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria. She was born April 10, 1943 in Arcola, IL., to Lowell and Modesta (Rollings) Gilbert.
Toni married Rod Butler on May 30, 1964 in Arcola. He survives along with two daughters: Betsy (Andrew) Derry of Edwards, IL., and Tracy (Jeff) Herrmann of Peoria; seven grandchildren, Molly, Will, Toni, Aidan, Rebekah, Joshua, and Noah; and one sister, Gayle Strader of Charleston, IL.
Toni was a dedicated and caring wife, mother, and Mimi. Toni and Rod were blessed with a loving 57 year marriage. The two greatest joys of her life were her family and studying God's Word daily. Toni was a faithful prayer warrior who prayed daily for family, friends, and even strangers.
Toni was also a dedicated and enthusiastic kindergarten teacher who impacted countless lives during her 28 year plus teaching career. In addition to her own career, she was a devoted football coaches' wife who attended hundreds of football games.
A loyal friend of many for decades, she enjoyed time with her friends and was gracious to everyone she met.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Jeff Schwatzentraub, of Brave Church in Englewood, Colorado, will be officiating services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Berachah Church, 2815 Sage Rd. Houston, TX, 77056.
