Sandra "Cookie" Perry, 79, passed away on December 16, 2021. Cookie was a resident of Chattanooga since 1960. She was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and was a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Cookie loved to sew and was a talented seamstress. She used her creativity in many ways, even making her daughter Amy's wedding dress as well as Barbie and doll clothes. Cookie adored spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren (who were the light of her life) and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Goforth, and mother, Margie Garton Baxendale.
Cookie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Marion "Buddy" Perry; sons, Paul (Margaret) Perry and Donnie (Paige) Perry; daughter, Amy (Michael) Jenkins; brother, Lester Baxendale; sister, Judy (Bob) Clark; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 3 – 7 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58 Chapel. Visitation will also be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 10 a.m. – noon. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at noon with Pastor Sterling Jetton officiating.
Cookie will be laid to rest in Old McDonald Cemetery in Ooltewah.
