BATES, Mr. Anthony Dondi - Age 43, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Covenant Health Care. Mr. Anthony Dondi Bates was born on September 25, 1964 in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late W.T. Bates and Doretha Bates. Anthony graduated from Flint Northern High School "Class of 1982". He was very active in football and baseball. He loved to be around his family and friends and always had a smile on his face. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Mr. Anthony Dondi Bates leaves to cherish his sweet memory: wife of 18 years, Carlotta Davis-Bates of Lawrenceburg, TN; 1 son, Korey Bishop; 3 daughters, Ayshia, Akeyah, and Dystane Bates, all of Lawrenceburg, TN; devoted mother, Doretha Bates; 3 sisters, Dorothy (Donald), Margaret (Clint) Sanders, and Brenda Bates; 2 brothers, Michael (Theressa), Larvester (Karen) Bates, all of Flint, Michigan; father-in-law, Willie Davis of Lawrenceburg, TN; mother-in-law, Carolyn (Freddie) Stokes of Flint, MI; 3 brothers-in-law, Bill (Zina) Evans, Ricky Evans and Ronald Evans; 3 sisters-in-law, Shelia Evans, Djenaba and Damalie McDowell, all of Flint, Michigan; 17 nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and nephews; a host of other friends and family including special friend, Traci Smith of Saginaw, MI and special aunt-in-law, Irene Young; other relatives including the Anderson, Byrd, Davis, Evans, James, Hargrow, Spiller, Stokes, Thomas, and White Families. Anthony was preceded in death by: father, W.T. Bates; uncle, Eddie Byrd; aunt, Essie Spiller; and best friend, Rodney Cassidy.
