A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 22,2014 at 1:00 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Gary Gibson. Interment will follow in Reedy Creek Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Tilley was born February 11,1938 in Montgomery County to the late Tyler M. and Margie Taylor Tilley.
He was predeceased by his wife Barbara Willis Tilley in 1989. A self-employed farmer, he was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed visiting with his buddies at the local cafés, and sitting on his porch with his hound dogs Belle and Blue. .
Surviving are sons Mitchell Tilley of Wallburg and Kimmey L. Tilley of Winston-Salem; daughter Sherry King and husband Clayton of Lexington; three grandchildren India Makray and husband Brian, Samuel King and wife Lisa, and Nelson King all of Lexington; great-grandchildren Jakeb Makray, Carly Makray, Ciara King, and Tanner King; brothers Jimmy Tilley and wife Alice of Midway, and Charles Tilley and wife Betty of Thomasville; sisters Thelma Everhart of Lexington and Barbara Jean Tilley of Kernersville; and special family member James Woodel of Winston-Salem.
