Rose Mary Whittle Hunt Carr went to join our Lord on December 16, 2021 at the age of 86. A native of Dallas, she was born June 7, 1935 to Ralph David and Claudia Orene Whittle. After graduating from The Hockaday School, she attended Southern Methodist University. She remained in Dallas and enjoyed a beautiful life as a mother and homemaker. She spent her last 7 years in Kansas City, enjoying her grandchildren. During her time at SMU she was awarded the honor of being a Rotunda Beauty and served as a dedicated member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Throughout her life she lovingly served the Dallas community in a variety of activities. She delighted in playing guitar with the Junior League Musical Therapy group, She was an active member of University Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas for most of her life. She volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels. Rose Mary never met a stranger and deeply enjoyed investing in others' lives with kindness and a listening ear. Her sweet temperament was fitting to one of her favorite activities- baking cakes. She enjoyed nurturing those around her by baking delicious treats for everyone she knew. An avid reader, Rose Mary possessed a delightful sense of humor, incredible kindness, and a beautiful smile. Rose Mary married Lamar Hunt in 1956 and had children, Lamar Jr. and Sharron Hunt. She later married John David Carr in 1964 and had 3 girls, Dianna Carr, who passed away September 15, 1993, Lynne Husbands, and Suzy Fleisher. Rose Mary is survived by Lamar Jr. and his wife, Rita, and children Sarah Arkell and her husband James, Elyssa Moderson and her husband Matt, Lamar Hunt III and his wife Jamy, Maria Wilson and her husband Kyle, Andrew Hunt, John Hunt, Jocelyn Hunt, and 8 great grandchildren. Rose Mary is also survived by Sharron Hunt and her four children, Isabel Rose Munson, Boone Munson, Miles Munson, and Thomas Munson. She is survived by Lynne Husbands and her husband, Michael. She is survived by Suzy Fleisher and her fiancé, Dr. Mike McGuire, children Caitlin Fleisher, Courtney Fleisher and Grant Fleisher. The funeral service and interment will be held on December 27, 2021 at 10 am at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd, Kansas City, MO 64145. The reception and viewing begin at 9 am. Livestream: A memorial service will be held in Dallas at a future date. Memorial donations may be made to Soul's Harbor at 13134 Nile Drive 75253 in Dallas, Texas. Rose Mary's father founded this non-profit in the late 1950's. She was always proud of that fact.
