Clarissa "Clara" May Davis, age 85 of Delton, Michigan, passed away December 11, 2021. Clara was born July 17, 1936, the daughter of Clarence Merl and Mabel Isabelle (Bedunah) Stearns.
Clara was a 1953 graduate of Reed City High School. She was a homemaker and preschool teacher at Happy Time Preschool for 18 years. Clara married Norman Davis on February 18, 1956, enjoying 63 years together until his passing.
Clara was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. She was a great cook, loved to can, freeze, and bake for family and friends. She enjoyed reading mysteries, doing crossword puzzles and spending time in her yard, but most loved spending time with family. She loved Jesus with all her heart and faithfully attended Hastings Assembly of God for 40 years, teaching Sunday School, singing on the worship team and helping in the kitchen.
Clara is preceded in death by her loving husband Norman Davis, her parents, siblings Erma (Zell) Pitcher, Vera (Amos) Caufield, Roy (Neva) Stearns, Iva (Wilmer) Campbell, Merl (Elaine) Stearns, Lee (Helen) Stearns, Elsie (John) Wilson, Lloyd (Velma) Stearns, and Donald Stearns.
Visitation will be Friday, December 17, 2021, from 6:00–8:00 PM with Funeral Service on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S Broadway; Hastings, MI 49058.
