Rev. Robert Cullen Henderson, age 86 of Dayton, passed on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton. He was born on November 1, 1935, in Forsyth, GA, the son of the late Robert and Lucy (Flint) Henderson.

Robert lived in Chattanooga and then in Dayton for the past 37 years. He was a graduate of Howard High School and from seminary in Chattanooga. He served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force for 10 years. He was the retired pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Dayton and also retired from Murray Security.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Harriette (Hickman) Henderson of Dayton; his three daughters, Carla Archie of Roswell, GA, Marcia (Kevin) Robinson, and Gloria Hickman, both of Chattanooga; his three grandchildren, J'naye (Cornelius) Norman, Van Murray, and Kellan Branford; his six great-grandchildren; his brother James (Ruth) Henderson of Chattanooga; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

Funeral services for Rev. Henderson with military honors will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 21, at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Julian Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
