Brenda Joyce Washington, was born on Wednesday, October 13, 1948, in Maringouin, Louisiana, to the late Gloria Mae Patterson and Robert Ellis Patterson. On Monday June 14, 2021, at Kent General Hospital, in Dover, Delaware, God called Brenda home at the age of 72.
Brenda was the oldest of eight children. She attended school at Thomas A.
Levy in Grosse Tete, Louisiana.
Brenda married Charles Washington, Jr., who was serving in the United States Air Force, on May 13, 1967.
Brenda worked for civil service, spent time as a seamstress and eventually
worked over 20 years at Kraft Foods before retiring.
Brenda was a devoted child of God and a true "prayer warrior". During her
life she was actively involved in serving the church and community through
prayer, song and visiting the elderly in nursing homes. Brenda exemplified a life filled with love and devotion to God, her family and her friends. She always showered us with words of encouragement and loved us with a heart full of compassion. Truly one-of-a-kind, never to be forgotten.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death her brother, Robert Ellis "Buddy" Patterson, Jr.
