Marvin Lee Mercer, of Mansfield, TX, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the age of 82.

Visitation: 1:30-2:00pm Friday, December 10, 2021 at Skyvue Memorial Gardens at the Graveside.
Graveside Service: 2:00pm Friday, December 10, 2021 at Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Interment: Skyvue Memorial Gardens.

Marvin was born on January 30, 1939 to Charles Mercer and Rosie Wetzel Mercer in Lott, TX. He attended High Island High school where he graduated from and then spent 8 years of his life in the Army Reserve. He then relocated to Arlington, TX where he married Wilma Carol Jumper Mercer on December 3, 1960 and they went on to be married for 61 years.

Throughout his life, Marvin worked for the City of Arlington Traffic Department and the City of Arlington Fire Department where he retired from. He went on to always stay involved with the Arlington Fire Fighters. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, he loved fishing, gardening and needle point. He won 1st place in a needle point contest a few years back for his Indian Chief and Indian Squad and received many recognitions for other needle points.

Marvin is preceded in death his parents, Charles and Rosie Mercer; brothers, Charles Mercer, Raymond Mercer, James Mercer, Carl Mercer, Aaron Mercer.
