Burns Prove Fatal to 82 Year Old Woman
Salamanca, March 26 - Mrs. Mary Aust, 82, died at midnight last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Sullivan in Railroad Street, Little Valley, of burns received that morning.
The aged woman's dress caught fire from a gas stovve in the bathroom. Her daughter tried to extinguish the flames and the mother ran out doors and rolled on the ground, but before the fire was out her clothing was almost entirely burned from her back. She was the widow of Peter Aust of Otto and had lived with her daughter since his death several years ago. She also leaves three sons, Joseph Aust of near Little Valley, Frank Aust of Cattaraugus and William Aust of Otto.
