York - S. Jane Lee, age 90, of York Township, York, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Wellspan York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ancel L. Lee, Jr. for 66 years with whom she started Baptist Churches in Edgewood, Maryland, and Stanton, Virginia.
Born August 22, 1931 in Alexandria, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Irene Garnett. She was a graduate of Granby High School, in Norfolk Virginia, and had worked in the credit collection department of Grumbacher & Sons for ten years. In early years she had been a volunteer for the USO.
Mrs. Lee is survived by three children, Julia J. Dooley and her husband Dr. John Dooley, of Delta, Cynthia L. Engle and her husband Cliff, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Roy Lee and his wife Nikki, of York; six grandchildren, Kyle Engle, Trevor Engle, Lewis Dooley, John Dooley, Jr., Eric Knaub-Laform, and Harley Lee; two great grandchildren, Audrey and Bernadette; and a brother, Robert Garnett, of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Jean Griffin; and a brother, Thomas Garnett.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Spry Church, 50 School Street, York, with The Rev. Ken Loyer, officiating. Viewings will be 4-6:00 PM Monday at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, and 9-10:00 AM Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
