He was born at Gay, WV son of the late Roy and Ophelia Cox Fields. He served his country in the US Army Reserves, 812th Ordnance Company, USAR Ripley, WV. He retired from CSX Railroad after 33 years of service and was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debby Fields; son William Chad (Whitney) Fields; sister Elladean (Bill) Ray; grandchildren Isaiah, Morgan, Hunter and Jordyn; step grandchildren Frankie, Annie, Whitney and Brody; nephew Tim (Karen) Ray; nieces Kelli Reed and Kim (Doug) Hudge.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Evadean Casto, Ernestine Reed and Kathleen Fields and nephew Frank Ray.
In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated and no public service.
