Fannie Wallace Gipson, 96, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with R.F. Willmon and Thomas Williams officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Fannie was born Sept. 2, 1911, in Gouldbusk to Sidney Willis and Mary Elizabeth Smith. She was a labor and delivery nurse for 27 years at Northwest Texas Hospital and was extremely proud of her career. She was a mother figure to many and always had an open door and an empty seat at the table, where many were fortunate enough to sample her fabulous cooking. She was a devoted Christian and held steadfast to her faith.

Survivors include a son, Bill Wallace and wife Deanna of Nacogdoches; a daughter, Sidney Myers of Amarillo; two sisters, Lucy Williams of Granbury and Claudia Peutt of Brownwood; two grandchildren, April Redmon and husband John and Sean Myers and wife Mary; a great-grandchild, Sarah Myers; and beloved extended family, R.F. and Edna Willmon and family.

The family suggests memorials be to Berean Children's Home, P.O. Box 1009, Brookhaven, MS 39602.
