On the 15th of December, 2021, Sharon Murray of Grant, died peacefully at the age of 75.

Sharon was born to Bernadette and R.D. Powell in the spring of 1946 in Muskegon, Michigan. She graduated from Grant High School and went on to Grand Rapids Junior College to become an LPN. She worked as a nurse for a few years before marrying Michael Murray in 1970, then became a stay-at-home wife and mother to raise their four children, Tim, Terry, Stephanie, and Michelle. She was a homemaker who loved her family with all of her heart.

Sharon loved life, and was always able to enjoy the simpler things in it (however, she also loved the spectacular things, as well. Naturally). Whether that be collecting candles, blowing bubbles on the front porch, or meaningful conversations with her favorite people, she was always smiling and cracking jokes. She knew how to make people feel better when they were down and did whatever she could to get them to smile. She also loved spending time with her best friend of 70 years, Joan, and their group of trusted, lifelong friends. She sincerely enjoyed and looked forward to having coffee and conversation with them, talking for hours about anything they could think of.

Some of her favorite hobbies included coloring mandala art, practicing calligraphy, baking, listening to her favorite music, and spending time with her family. She also loved praying and was fiercely strong in her faith. Every night, her and her husband would pray the rosary together, it was a routine they steadfastly refused to break. Her impressive collection of rosaries is a testament to her devotion to Christ and the Blessed Virgin.

Sharon and Mike were married for a whopping 51 years, in that time having many adventures, the most recent one being visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Mike, their children, Tim (Jessica) Murray, Terry (Jayme) Murray, Stephanie (Brad) Heiss, and Michelle (Eric) Shukis, their grandchildren, Sara, Emily (Spencer), Monica, Abby, Sean, Michael, Sophie, and Evelyn, and many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will take place on Monday, December 20th from 4-7 pm at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church (599 W Brooks St., Newaygo). Praying of the Rosary will begin at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning at 11 am at the church, Visitation will begin one hour prior. Sharon will be laid to rest at St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Grant Area District Library (Children Books), Love Inc., Priests for Life or Right to Life of Michigan.
