HARRY ALBERT BROCKMAN, 90, of State College, Pa., formerly of Whiting, MANCHESTER, died Monday, Dec. 17, at The Fairways at Brookline Village in State College. Born July 2, 1917 in Newark, he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth Hocka Brockman. On Oct. 12, 1940, he married Irene Kankowski, who died Sept. 15, 2004. Harry served as a first lieutenant with the Army Air Corps during World War II in the European Theater with the 8th Air Force, 491st Bomb Division. He was the owner of H.A. Brockman, Inc., a manufacturing company in East Hanover. He was previously employed by the Marti Corporation in Irvington and Cedar Knoll. He was a member of the Chester Lions Club and was the founder of the Chester flea market. Harry was also an amateur painter.

He is survived by his son, William S. Brockman and his wife Ann Copeland of State College, Pa.; and two grandsons, Peter and Daniel.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28 at the chapel at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Penn State University Libraries, Development Office, 510 Paterno Library, University Park, PA 16802. Koch Funeral Home, State College, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.
