Helen attended Sharptown Elementary School and graduated from Garnett High School, as one of the top students in her class. She played the saxophone (of which her daughter's birthmark resembles).
In her earlier years, Helen attended Aaron Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the church choir. She was passionate about song-writing and singing her songs at church including " "Thank You Jesus, You're All I Need". She enjoyed fellowshipping with other local churches.
Helen worked various jobs throughout her life including: Elkton Fireworks, Clark's Grocery Store, Wayne Brady's Seafood and local restaurants. She also did in-home senior care and housekeeping.
In her spare time, Helen enjoyed drawing, working crossword puzzles, playing cards, shopping and watching the "Soaps". She was known for having conversations with others (everyone) and making people laugh. She always enjoyed family holiday gatherings and cookouts, while matching head-to-toe in her favorite color, purple.
Helen leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Joella G. "Joy" Cooper; grandchildren, Noella P. "Nody Pote" Kline (Kyler), Staff Sergeant Joella M.
