Stephen Scott "Squid" Thompson, age 28, of Globe, passed away August 19th, 2021 at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.


Stephen was a 2011 Globe High School graduate, served as a 19D10 Cavalry Scout in the U.S. Army with an Honorable Discharge. He attended the Scottsdale Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts

where he received an Associate in Occupational Studies. Stephen worked in the hospitality industry, preparing food in several of Arizona's five star resorts. He enjoyed exploring Arizona's hiking trails and recreation areas, his favorite place being White Crossing on the San Carlos Indian Reservation. Stephen enjoyed making art and used various techniques to express himself. His favorite was creating street art with family and friends. Stephen never complained, was very humble, always put others before himself and loved his families; "Faith, Honor, Apache".


Stephen was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul Thompson Sr. and Euella Thompson and Uncle Nathanial Thompson. He is survived by his mother Cheryl Thompson and step father, Aaron George. Father Stephen Thompson, sister Alyssa Thompson and brother Cass Thompson and Jaden Thompson. Graveside service was officiated by Father John Shea of St. Charles Catholic Church.

Full military honors were provided by the San Carlos Apache Veterans Association.
