Guadalupe "Lupe" Garcia was born on the 5th of November of 1933 in Brownsville, Texas to Vicente Garcia and Celia Salas Garcia. Lupe passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021 at the age of 88.

Guadalupe dutifully served his country as a flight traffic specialist in the US Air Force for 4 years and 3 months / Airman 1st class E-4 (P). After completing his service from the armed services he obtained his teaching degree from Pan American University and devoted 27 years teaching at the Brownsville Independent School District with primary school students. Lupe was most proud of being married to the love of his life, Angie, and their 4 children, and 9 grandchildren. Lupe and Angie recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He loved celebrating family and all the associated milestones. Lupe loved music and dancing with Angie. There is rarely a memory held by his family and friends that doesn't have the two of them holding on to each other swaying to music. When Lupe and Angie weren't on the dance floor they could often be found watching their novelas or bargain hunting at the local flea market.

He is preceded in death by his parents Vicente and Celia Garcia and brother Antonio and beloved son John. He is also survived by two siblings Maria Garcia Tucker and younger brother Raul. Guadalupe is survived by his wife Angelica, daughter Monica and her husband Daniel ; their sons Vincent, Daniel, and Aaron; son Orlando and his wife Veronica their children Christopher and Britini; son Carlos and his wife Jennifer and their children Jackson, Madeline, and Emery.

Guadalupe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was blessed with a full life, and his smile and good hearted nature will be missed by all who knew him.

A visitations for Guadalupe will be held Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 12pm to 9pm with a Rosary at 7pm in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Monday, December 20, 2021 at 10am at St Marys Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A burial will occur at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
