Donna was an amazing woman and was loved so much by her husband of 58 years, her family and friends. She had many impressive qualities but her thoughtfulness was like no other. She was the first to wish you a Happy Birthday or remember a special event, large or small. Donna called every grandchild on their first day of school to tell them to have a good day and "learn lots." She always made you feel special. She would make your favorite foods and was known for her chicken salad, grandma supreme and specially made all of your favorite treats. Donna worried too, no one could ever travel without her saying "call when you get there."
She was fun to be with, she had a large group of friends and often went for coffee, lunch, and daily bike rides earlier in life. She traveled frequently and went on various trips, some of her favorites included Las Vegas, Florida, Hawaii and an Alaskan Cruise.
Donna was loved. Not a day went by when her phone was not ringing off the hook, hearing from her children, grandchildren, nephews and friends. Our hearts are breaking with the loss of our mother, she is now reunited with our Dad who has been gone for over 8 years, and she has missed him dearly every day.
Donna is survived by daughters: Diane Berweger (Glenn), Denise Settimi (Mike), Dale Peterson (Jackie); grandchildren: Neil Berweger, Katie (Keith) Kavajecz, Ashley Settimi, Michelle Settimi, Natalie Settimi, Sydney Peterson, Carson Peterson; great grandchildren: Kallie Kavajecz and Kinley Kavajecz.
Preceded in death by parents Frank and Margaret Mersy, husband C. Donald "Bundy" Peterson, brother Frank H. Mersy Jr., sisters: Marie Mitchell and Dorothy Darrey.
Private burial will be held on Saturday Dec. 18th, at Mount Hope Cemetery. The Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland is handling the arrangements.
