Mary Walker Stevenson was born on October 21, 1947 to Gwendolyn and Geraldine Walker in Sparta, IL. Mary entered into eternal rest on December 12, 2021 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.
Mary received her education from the Sparta School System, graduating from the Sparta High School. She was a very outgoing lady. Mary loved to dance and cook. She worked at Railroad Café for several years. She then went on to work at the Sparta Hospital until she retired.
She united in Holy Matrimony in 1984 to James Stevenson. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife and an amazing friend to everyone she came across. Her favorite hobby was playing bingo and making pies for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother and one niece.
She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, son, sisters, brothers, 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of several family and friends.
